What will I need to bring?

  • Please wear comfortable shoes. Securely fitting shoes, rather than flip-flops or clogs, are preferable, and flats or sturdy heels work better for west coast swing than high skinny heels.
  • Dancing is exercise, so you might consider bringing an extra shirt or a towel.
  • Tight jeans can be difficult to dance in. Slacks or dress pants, anything comfortable to move in, will offer more pleasant experience as you learn to dance.
  • Gum and breath mints make good first impressions. Just don’t chew gum while you’re dancing.
  • Lastly, come looking for fun. West coast swing is not an easy dance, but it rewards those who get through the initial learning curve.
