Mixed-Level Jack & Jill This Saturday!
March 21st, 2007. Posted by David LimWe invite you to join in on our mixed-level Jack & Jill competition at our Fourth Saturday dance! It will be a great competition to watch and better yet, participate in.
One of the most exciting competitive aspects of west coast swing is a Jack & Jill competition. Leads and follows are randomly (by a draw of a card or roll of a dice) paired together and must demonstrate their best timing, technique, and teamwork against other couples. The competition emphasizes social dance skills of the partnership as they dance to several random songs.
So what’s a mixed-level Jack & Jill? Dancing can be a personal hobby or passion. It can be very intimidating to dance in front of people. We want to encourage new competitors to try competing in a Jack & Jill by providing them experienced competitors as partners. Newcomers will get a random partner who has competition experience and will show them how much fun Jack & Jills can be.
Interested? Come to our March 24th dance and sign up before 9:30 p.m.! Dance with someone new and possibly win a prize doing something you love—dancing!
