A number of PSDC members have expanded their repertoire to include blues dancing, a highly connected, rhythmic dance that is done to music that’s very compatible with west coast swing.
Now you can get both dance fixes in one place, with a WCS DJ and a blues DJ alternating three-song sets all night upstairs at the Scottish Rite Temple (709 SW 15th, Portland).
For January, the WCS/blues dance is 9 pm to midnight, and beginning lessons will be offered starting in February. Admission to the WCS/blues dance upstairs AND the lindy dance downstairs (7 pm lesson, 8-midnight dancing) is only $6 for PSDC or Westside Swing members. See www.westsideswing.com for more info.
